Matt Forte, a former running back for the Chicago Bears who made it to the Pro Bowl, had a hilarious chat with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show earlier today. They discussed a number of hot subjects related to the Bears.

Adams questioned Forte on his recent interactions with Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the first overall draft pick, and what impressed him most.

He’s a good child, that’s what caught my attention, stated Forte. “His caring nature is evident from the bottom up. His goal is to triumph. ‘Yeah, I’m the number one choice, and everybody is supposed to love me and all that,’ is not a proud gesture. It seems more like a self-promotion.

Williams and Rome Odunze, another first-round selection, are both extremely modest and driven for success, according to Forte.

Adams also inquired about Forte’s thoughts on the current Bears team culture.

“I do feel a change in the [Bears] culture,” he stated. “It was like, ‘Thank you, see you next lifetime,’ when I retired. And I don’t mean any offense to anyone; it’s just the reality.”

We were in the same draft class, as I mentioned before, Ryan [Bears General Manager Ryan Poles]. Despite not being drafted, he and I went to camp together, so he understands the importance of having former teammates visit the facility, hang out, and participate in practices, among other things. Kevin Warren, the [team president], is aware of that as well. Both the legends who played at a high level and the guys who are former players have always found them to be quite kind and friendly. And when you have that, I believe it motivates the younger men who are emerging; they want to follow in your footsteps and achieve greatness as well.”

According to Forte, the Bears have a good chance of “really doing some damage and going deep into the playoffs, and probably winning the Super Bowl as well.”

“The timing is right in Chicago.”
