Rome Odunze, a wide receiver for Washington, was truly desired by the Chicago Bears.
In order to secure their much desired ball catcher, they reportedly were even prepared to give up a fourth-round draft pick to the Atlanta Falcons, moving up just one position from their no. 9 pick in the first round of this year’s draft.
Luckily, they were spared from having to seal the agreement. Luckily for them, they also got their man.
Odunze is one half of the Bears’ twin-bill first-round picks in what they believe would be a franchise turnaround, along with Caleb Williams, the overall number one pick and a blue chip quarterback prospect out of USC.
Odunze is 6-foot-3 with 4.4 speed, who owned the field in college, finishing his collegiate run with consecutive 1,000+ receiving yards.
But what really sets him apart are his tireless work ethic and blue-collar mindset– something which he recently showcased (once again) to media, while revealing a source of inspiration– the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
