The talk of the 2024 NFL Draft is the Chicago Bears. With the first pick in the draft, the team will almost certainly select Caleb Williams, but what they do at number nine is still up in the air. The Bears make an unexpected transaction in this mock draft that results in the acquisition of a top prospect.
Chicago Bears, 2024 Mock Draft

The Chicago Bears’ decision to select Caleb Williams at such an early stage of the draft is beginning to raise some eyebrows among observers. When we have months to analyze NFL Draft prospects, this is what occurs. Fans, analysts, and perhaps even the scouting departments of the teams get a little tired. That’s why players like Zach Wilson are rising higher on draft boards. Drake Maye knocks down other draft boards for this reason. Nor is it limited to the quarterback position. Many possibilities at many occupations unfairly rise and fall each year.

One of these analysts, Louis Riddick, reportedly spoke with an NFL personnel person who is surprised that Chicago isn’t being examined more closely for how they decided what direction they were going at quarterback weeks ago. Meanwhile, many find it mind-boggling that Washington is managing their quarterback situation with what seems to be very little guidance. Once more, off-season exhaustion is to blame.

The good news is that we can put part of this madness behind us because the first round of the draft is in less than a week. Meanwhile, a recent suggestion for an intriguing deal involving the Chicago Bears was made by another NFL analyst. In a mock draft released by NFL Draft expert Daniel Jeremiah, the Chicago Bears selected wide receiver Rome Odunze at number nine.

He did, however, recently state that he thinks it would be interesting if the Bears choose to go up in the first round as opposed to down. Not to reveal too much, but the move is not what most fans and pundits are talking about. Let’s clear the air regarding the first pick before moving on to the deal.
