According to the most recent Forbes rich list, Bernard Arnault has restored his status as the richest person in the world, topping Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk
After a $3 billion decline in his net worth on Thursday, which saw him go from $202 billion to $199 billion in a single day, Arnault momentarily lost the top spot.
But in less than a day, he added $460 million to his fortune, quickly regaining his title as the world’s richest person.
Bernard Arnault, who was born on March 5, 1949, is the creative force behind LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE, the largest luxury goods company in the world. It is renowned for its wide range of products, which includes jewelry, watches, wine, and fashion.
With an estimated net worth of US$ 231.5 billion as of March 22, Arnault is without a doubt the richest person in the world.
Arnault is in charge of LVMH’s empire, which consists of 75 renowned fashion and beauty businesses, including Sephora and Louis Vuitton.
Notably, one of the biggest luxury brand acquisitions in history occurred in 2021 when LVMH paid an astounding $15.8 billion to acquire American jeweler Tiffany & Co.
Agache, Arnault’s holding company, finances endeavors like Aglaé Ventures, a venture capital business that has invested in well-known companies like Netflix and ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, in addition to his luxury empire.
His father’s success in the construction industry laid the groundwork for Arnault’s rise to prominence. In 1984, he bought Christian Dior with $15 million from the family firm, launching him into the world of high-end fashion.
Arnault’s commercial activities are heavily influenced by his family; all five of his children are actively involved in LVMH.
