According to reports, Leicester City is getting close to hiring Graham Potter, the former manager of Chelsea.
Since the Blues stole Enzo Maresca a few weeks ago to take Mauricio Pochettino’s place, the Foxes have been searching for a new manager.
Maresca only moved to the King Power last summer after defeating Leicester with a stunning 97 points to win the Championship.
The Sun and other reports indicate that the 2015–16 Premier League winners have made up their mind to choose Potter as their manager. The 49-year-old’s conversations have gone well, and they are optimistic about Potter’s appointment soon.
Along with Carlos Corberan of West Brom and Steve Cooper of Nottingham Forest, Leicester also spoke with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former manager of Manchester United.
Potter has been out of work for over a year after getting sacked by Chelsea following a disastrous seven-month tenure at Stamford Bridge.
He joined the west-London club after a highly impressive spell with Brighton but failed to replicate his magic, winning just 12 of his 31 games with Chelsea finishing the 2022/23 season in 12th place.
Given the struggles that Pochettino had last season, many have acknowledged that the issues at Chelsea were at least in part to blame on owner Todd Boehly and his outlandish transfer strategy, and Potter remains well-regarded.
