Ben Johnson of West Ham has been linked to Ipswich Town, which might spell the end for Axel Tuanzebe.

The Tractor Boys have had an incredible season in 2023–2024; after all, they were only promoted to the Championship the previous season.

However, Kieran McKenna’s team has produced some outstanding football throughout the season, which has contributed to their point total.

This is evident immediately, as the team has been strongly connected to a deal for Ben Johnson, a defender for West Ham United.

Ben Johnson of West Ham was being pursued by Leeds United, as Daniel Farke was eager to bolster his full-back corps. This was initially reported in January. That was done by the club, but Connor Roberts was added in the process.

The Daily Mirror (21/4 paper edition; page 71) now claims that although they are still interested in the player, Ipswich Town is now posing a threat.

Johnson’s contract with the Premier League team ends at the conclusion of this season, therefore the report claims that the Tractor Boys are keeping a watch on him.

The 26-year-old has experience playing in the Championship having had two different loan stints at Aston Villa, where he helped the team advance to the play-offs.

It was therefore unknown where he would go when it was revealed that he would be leaving Man United. However, McKenna made the decision to take a chance and give the defense a chance to play while they pursue consecutive promotions.

Despite not playing much for the team, Tuanzebe has contributed significantly—he has participated in the Championship on 15 occasions thus far. Considering that he didn’t play for the team in the league until the beginning of November, that isn’t too awful.
