Thanks to the signing of receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, along with the selection of Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears are among the most intriguing teams in the NFL this offseason. Even if the Chicago Bears appear exciting on paper, demoting or even cutting talented players is a necessary part of improving your roster.

Like every other NFL club, the Bears will shortly begin their required minicamp phase of offseason practices, and several players may not make it.

But to whom? Let’s examine a few players who will need to perform better in the remaining offseason.

1. Quarterback Brett Rypien

This offseason, the Bears signed former Denver Broncos backup quarterback Brett Rypien, adding a veteran to their very young quarterback group. Although Rypien has played for the Rams and Jets in recent years, his worth to a quarterback room these days appears to lie more in his off-field contributions than in his on-field accomplishments.

Although Rypien is a useful additional pair of eyes, most people will find it shocking to see him in comparison to players like Tyson Bagent and Caleb Williams on the practice field. Rypien will face competition from one quarterback if the Bears decide to retain three quarterbacks on the field.
