Following the Golden State Warriors’ defeat to the Indiana Pacers, Chris Paul informed NBA reporters that he had referred to referee Tony Brothers as a “TikToker” during their back-and-forth.
After Paul complained that the NBA Brothers had too much power, Chris Paul of the Golden State Warriors and the NBA Brothers issued Paul a technical penalty and subsequently dismissed the future Hall of Famer.
Brothers said that he doesn’t really care about basketball in a TikTok interview that Paul shared on Instagram. Brothers also referred to himself as the “judge, jury, prosecuting attorney, defense attorney,” a reference to which Paul made reference during the postgame press conference.
In 24 minutes against the Pacers, Paul ended with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 2 of 5 from beyond the arc. The final score was 123-111 in favor of the Warriors.
Golden State’s current season record is 36-33. Los Angeles Lakers moved up to ninth place in the Western Conference standings, 1.5 games ahead of the Warriors, after a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at home. The scorching Houston Rockets are putting pressure on Golden State for the 10th position.
The Warriors, who fell to the Lakers in six games in the 2023 playoffs’ second round, are only 2.0 games ahead of the Rockets.
Golden State’s five-game road journey begins with a difficult opening schedule. On Sunday, they travel to Minnesota to play the Timberwolves. Following that, they play a back-to-back set in Florida against the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic.
Paul remarked, “Ain’t nobody going to feel sorry for us.”
Paul is averaging 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in his debut season with the Warriors. He is also shooting 44.5% from the field, 38.6% from three, and 83.3% from the foul line. The legendary NBA player has made 45 appearances.
