The 20-year-old has made nine SkyBet League Two outings in his career and has now joined the Iron on a permanent basis after being released by the Cod Army.
The attacker signed for then-SkyBet League One outfit Fleetwood Town last summer, but was unable to break into the first team across the past season.
He left the Cod Army, managed by former Liverpool and Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam, as a free agent recently. Upon his exit from the relegated side, he has been picked up by Andy Butler and Scunthorpe United.
Fishburn, who was born in Gateshead, came through the youth ranks at Carlisle United. He went on to make 15 senior appearances for the Cumbrian outfit, including nine in the fourth tier during a breakthrough 2021/22 campaign.
The striker has developed his goalscoring edge during various non-league loan spells. He spent stints at Lancaster City and Morpeth Town, where he notched all of his 14 career goals to date.
In the 2022/23 he spent a spell at Blyth Spartans, who were then in the National League North. Then, towards the end of last season, he managed a run of games on loan at York City in the National League.
The two strikers will join the prolific Danny Whitehead in the Iron’s offensive line ahead of the 2024/25 season.
