Christina DeRuyter, who has played an important role in the Wolverines’ recruiting department over the last three seasons, revealed late Monday that she will join the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers as their new director of football logistics.

DeRuyter joined Michigan as director of on-campus recruitment and operations in the spring of 2021, where she led official visits and managed staff-recruit relations. Her appointment coincided with the program’s three-year streak of Big Ten titles and three consecutive College Football Playoff participation, which culminated in a national championship in 2023.

For example, two of them are from Ann Arbor: Richard Perry studied sports management at Michigan, while Reid Kuhl, a new addition, majored in economics. Meanwhile, new analysts Aidan Young (Oregon), Preston Sagan (Clemson),

(Pittsburgh), Jack Turner (Wake Forest, Davidson), and Jacob Weber (Indiana) have joined the program from various institutions throughout the country.

She joins at least nine other former Michigan personnel in Los Angeles, including three coaches (Jesse Minter and Steve Clinkscale), an analyst (Rick Minter), a graduate assistant (Dylan Roney), and four strength and conditioning coaches, lead by Ben Herbert.

“When you look around the country, the programs that have sustainability and continued success — their head coaches are attacking it and recruiting at a high level,” Moore stated shortly after being hired. “Coach (Harbaugh) did that, but I want to take it to the next level. I want to hit it front on, recruiting, talking to students, and ensuring that we have the resources we need here on campus — from a NIL and football viewpoint — when the players arrive.

Since Moore’s arrival, Michigan has had mixed recruiting results, landing seven players from the NCAA transfer portal with immediate eligibility while convincing only two high-school prospects to publicly commit to the Wolverines: four-star offensive tackle Avery Gach (Franklin, Mich.) and four-star defensive lineman Nathan Marshall (Oak Park, Ill.).
