Ravens sign Ka’dar Hollman, a depth cornerback

The Ravens added cornerback Ka’dar Hollman to bolster their secondary just one day after bolstering their offensive line, as reported by the Athletic.

Entering his fourth season, Hollman, 29, made one start and participated in all 17 games for the Houston Texans in the previous campaign. He had 10 tackles and one recovered fumble at the end of the season. Despite playing defense in eight games, he spent the most of his time on special teams.

After attending prep school and joining Toledo’s football team, Hollman, who was selected by Green Bay with the sixth overall choice in the 2019 NFL draft, graduated from college at the age of 25. Before being moved to the Texans in 2021, he participated in four games in 2019 and fourteen in 2020.

Eight days after the Texans acquired him, Hollman was discarded, starting his career with several different NFL teams. Hollman was on six different rosters from August 2021 to January 2023: the Texans, the San Francisco 49ers, the New Orleans Saints, the New York Giants, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Miami Dolphins.

With 35 NFL games under his belt, Hollman has 20 tackles, one fumble recovery, and three passes defensed.

This action follows the departure of Ronald Darby, a cornerback who was instrumental in covering for starting CB Marlon Humphrey. After playing 16 games with Baltimore, Darby signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. As the closest defender in coverage, he allowed just 23 completions on 48 targets, which translates to a coverage success percentage of 60.4%, according to the NFL’s Next Gen Stats.
