Detroit (WNDU) – The Los Angeles Chargers selected former Notre Dame cornerback Cam Hart with the 140th choice in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon, indicating that he has found a home in the league.
Hart switched from being a wide receiver in high school to a cornerback at Notre Dame, where in his fifth year, he was chosen as the team captain. During his five years in college, Hart underwent three shoulder surgeries, according to our journalistic colleagues at the South Bend Tribune.
He gave up just three touchdown catches in his remaining 33 games, according to the Tribune. He gave up just 15 completions for 137 yards and no touchdowns in his last season.
In this year’s draft, Hart is the fourth player from Notre Dame to be taken. He moves to Los Angeles to join teammate Joe Alt, who was selected by the Chargers with the fifth overall choice on Thursday night in the first round of the NFL.
Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers had a 5-12 record and were last in the AFC West.
