In the NBA playoffs, the Warriors emerged victorious against the Sacramento Kings in the opening round, only to fall to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round.
adium’s Shams Charania reports that Usman Garuba will be added by the Golden State Warriors to their roster of 15 players.
Usman Garuba joined the Golden State Warriors for the first time this season.
He has five game appearances under his two-way deal.
According to Charania: “Sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium that the Golden State Warriors intend to convert two-way center Usman Garuba to a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the season.” Garuba, who is qualified for the playoffs, will occupy the last roster place for the Warriors.”
The Houston Rockets originally selected Garuba with the 23rd overall choice in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Throughout 104 regular season games, he has averaged 2.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 36.3% from three-point range.
With a 45-36 record through 81 games, Golden State is currently ranked as the tenth seed in the Western Conference—the last play-in berth in the postseason.
They have won eight of their past ten games, but their most recent defeat came at home against the New Orleans Pelicans, when they were defeated 114-109.
The Warriors’ next game is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Chase Center in San Francisco, where they will host the Utah Jazz after their trip to New Orleans.
