Duke Football is placing a strong emphasis on bolstering their defensive lineup in the 2025 recruiting class, as evidenced by all five of their recent additions from the junior class being defensive players. The most recent recruit, Defensive Lineman Julius Columbus, opted to commit to the Blue Devils despite receiving numerous offers from other programs, attributing his decision largely to the exceptional recruiting efforts of DE Coach Harland Bower and other members of the Duke coaching staff.
Hailing from Gainesville, Georgia, Columbus stands at a height of 6’2″ and weighs 286 pounds. He is ranked as the 57th-best Defensive Lineman in the nation and the 67th-best player in Georgia, a state renowned for its football talent. In addition to his football prowess, Columbus also excels in track and field events, achieving regional qualifier status as a sophomore in both shotput and discus.
