In previous transfer windows, the Citizens were known to cash in on players who wanted to leave the Etihad Stadium.
Names like Leroy Sane and Ferran Torres have helped City earn a lot of money when they opted to join other teams in recent years.
Now that another summer transfer window is about to start, some behind-the-scenes information has emerged about the club’s attitude on one of its current talents who has sparked international interest.
It stated: “Ederson has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League (SPL), but City are not actively looking to part with him and offers will only be considered if the Brazil international makes it clear he wants to leave the Etihad Stadium.”
Since joining the club from Benfica in 2017 for £35 million, the Brazilian has made 332 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, preserving 155 clean sheets along the way.
Ederson’s likely exit this summer would be a big blow to the Citizens after playing such an important role in the club and being a vital component in their recent success.
During his most recent Premier League campaign with the Blues, the Brazil international saved 56 of the 82 shots he faced, giving him a greater save percentage (70.7%) than David Raya (68.1%), Guglielmo Vicario (67.7%), and Emi Martinez (66.2%), among others.
Now that it has been stated that City will only accept bids for the 30-year-old if he decides he wants to leave the club, like Sane and Torres did, everyone at the club should be praying that Ederson doesn’t get his head turned and think about leaving.
