The Boston Celtics are going to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third season in a row and sixth time in eight years.
Boston finished its second-round victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 113-98 victory in Wednesday’s Game 5 at TD Garden. While it was closer than some surely expected for much of the game, the Celtics had too much firepower for a shorthanded Cleveland team that was missing Donovan Mitchell, Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen.
Jayson Tatum stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and four steals, while Al Horford (22 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three blocks) and Derrick White (18 points, six assists, five rebounds and 4-of-9 from three-point range) played well in support.
