Former Las Vegas Aces star and two-time WNBA MVP Candace Parker has been named president of Adidas women’s basketball.

Adidas announced Wednesday that Parker will work with the brand to create a platform to influence and elevate women’s sports. She will also oversee the women’s basketball product line.

A former first-overall pick out of Tennessee, Parker is a three-time WNBA champion, having won with the Sparks, Sky and Aces.

She also has two Olympic gold medals as a member of the U.S. women’s basketball team.

Parker re-signed with the Aces in February but announced her retirement last month, citing her health. She had suffered a foot fracture midseason last year that required surgery and forced her to miss the rest of the Aces’ championship run.

Adidas’ current player roster includes Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray and forward Alysha Clark.
