According to reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are searching for a blockbuster deal.
Pittsburgh According to reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are contacting a lot of clubs in an attempt to find a seasoned wide receiver in the hopes of pulling off a blockbuster trade. Additionally, they added the Seattle Seahawks to their list of potential candidates, said NFL source Benjamin Allbright.
The Steelers have reportedly spoken with the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks on possible trades involving Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, as well as D.K. Metcalf, according to Allbright’s story on X.
Metcalf, 26, has recorded 1,000 yards in three of his first five NFL seasons, with last year adding 1,114 yards and eight touchdowns to his resume. The two-time Pro Bowler is entering his sixth season and is set to take on a $24.5 million cap hit in 2024, with a $29.5 million hit next season.
The news of the Steelers calling about Metcalf comes on the same day general manager Omar Khan said on the Pat McAfee Show that there is nothing in the works for a wide receiver trade.
In the event that the transfer takes place after June 1st, the Steelers would acquire a fantastic wide receiver to complement George Pickens and rookie Roman Wilson. They have apparently been searching all offseason, with Aiyuk, Samuel, and wide receiver Courtland Sutton of the Broncos being the main subjects of the speculations. However, it seems that they have expanded their search as Metcalf has been added to the list.
