In both the G League and the NBA, the Portuguese big man is juggling many roles.
Neemias Queta was playing for the Maine Celtics in the G League Finals in Oklahoma City on Thursday night. He was back at TD Garden on Friday night, assisting the Boston Celtics in their thrashing of the Charlotte Hornets.
The short turnaround time wouldn’t deter him.
It seems to me that developing habits is key. Good habits. winning behaviors, remarked Queta. “We [live] for the opportunity to step onto the court and play significant minutes on an NBA NBA court, and it will be crucial to our long-term development.”
“Therefore, we can be more competitive the more minutes we can play and the more opportunities we have to win.”
The G League regulars Drew Peterson and JD Davison, as well as the Celtics, outplayed the Hornets in every way. With Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Al Horford sitting out, Boston’s bench group won by a score of 33 points.
Queta shot 8 of 10 from the field and completed the game with 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
The two-way deal of the Portuguese big man was upgraded to a normal contract with the Celtics. He is ecstatic about the multi-year agreement.
Feel thankful, without a doubt. I’m appreciative of that,” Queta remarked. “It’s something that I’ve been working toward for a very long time, and being able to accomplish it at this time of year, when the team is performing so well, is really fulfilling.”
