While they await their final selection at No. 122 overall in the fourth round, the Chicago Bears are excited to watch how the NFL draft board is assembled. However, they are not ruling out making their first trade of the draft.
Speaking with media after the second day of the draft, Bears general manager Ryan Poles hinted at a possible Day 3 deal. He said the squad still has a few “gold-level players” on their roster who could persuade them to move up, even if they do not want to just “give away picks” in the 2025 draft.
Following the third round on April 26, Poles remarked, “Yeah, we’ll see how the board plays out.” “As it kind of lowers down, we’ll see if maybe we can snag two of the gold-level people that are still there. Once more, though, we’ll merely play the numerical game. We wish to avoid taking any wild chances. We would prefer not to trade away picks because we have a great setup for next year. But we might be able to do that if it’s for a gold player.
Which Positions for the Bears on Day Three Make the Most Sense?
The Bears possess “gold-level” talent at many different positions, so where may it make the most sense for them to move up from No. 122 or stay put?
A safe choice are edge rushers. With the No. 75 choice, Poles said the club thought about selecting an edge rusher rather than Yale offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie. He also mentioned that they might advance on Day 3 if they felt the need to strengthen their defense.
