Jim Harbaugh guided the Michigan Wolverines to an undefeated 15-0 season and secured the national championship in 2023 before departing to take on the role of head coach for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL.
Upon his transition to the Chargers, Jim Harbaugh, who previously coached the Wolverines, honored his Michigan ties by getting a tattoo inspired by the university. During a sentimental visit back to Michigan to collect his championship rings, Harbaugh commemorated the perfect season by having the iconic Michigan “M” logo and the 2023 record of 15-0 permanently inked on his right arm.
In a social media video, Harbaugh jovially remarked, “I’m impervious to pain,” while running back Donovan Edwards praised him as “a man of his word.”
While Harbaugh moves forward with the Chargers, Michigan continues its journey without him at the helm, as offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore takes over. Additionally, star quarterback J.J. McCarthy has entered the 2024 NFL Draft after leading Michigan to victory.
Despite his new NFL role, Harbaugh’s bond with Michigan remains strong. Having played and coached for the university, Harbaugh expressed deep gratitude, emphasizing his enduring loyalty to the Wolverines.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season with the Chargers, Harbaugh is optimistic about the team’s potential success. With the possibility of facing his brother John Harbaugh, head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, in the AFC playoffs, the upcoming season could introduce a compelling sibling rivalry between the two Harbaugh brothers.
