Compiling all of the news around the Warriors and the NBA for Monday, April 22.

Golden State Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry was named a finalist for this season’s Clutch Player of the Year award. On Sunday, the NBA announced Curry, alongside the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Chicago Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan, as the three finalists vying to become the second recipient of the award since it was introduced last season.

The key player for the Warriors demonstrated that he is still among the best closers in the league. This season, he concluded with an NBA-high seven game-winning field goals in the last minute of the fourth quarter or overtime, leading the league in points scored in clutch circumstances (189).

“One team to keep an eye on in the event that Paul and the Warriors part ways is San Antonio. According to early rumors, the Spurs may become a suitor for Paul if they choose to pursue some veteran expertise on a short-term contract basis in order to provide more experienced support for presumed Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama in Year 2.”
