The first recruit for Michigan football under Sherrone Moore is signed.

 

Under Sherrone Moore, Michigan football hasn’t missed a beat thus far. The Wolverines finished their yearly spring game not long after the new coach signed his first-ever recruit.

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, four-star defensive lineman Nate Marshall committed to Michigan on Tuesday, joining the school’s 2025 class. The native of Oak Park, Illinois, choose the Wolverines over Auburn, Ohio State, and Alabama.

Even though Marshall isn’t expected to catch a lot of touchdowns in college, his ability to move both ways is encouraging for his future as an athlete. Despite having one of the top defensive lines in the nation the previous season, Michigan’s roster is unlikely to include many of those players by 2025. In the post-Harbaugh era, Marshall might eventually serve as the focal point of the Wolverine pass rush.

Marshall is the first four-star player for the Wolverines in history, since the other three are all three-star players.
