King’s remarks regarding the Tractor Boys clearly indicate his desire to play in the league.

In the oldest domestic football cup competition in the world, the Sky Blues’ journey to this stage has been an extremely thrilling one. At Portman Road, they took on non-league underdogs Maidstone United, who defeated Ipswich in the third round.

The match was primarily focused on Maidstone and their accomplishment to reach that stage, but their quarterfinal matchup with Wolves was an absolute barnstormer. Four goals were scored in the 80th and following minutes, with Wanderers taking a 2-1 lead in the 83rd and 88th minutes after placing the ball past Bradley Collins.

Had the game ended there, it would have been remembered for its dramatic conclusion; however, Coventry recognized Wolves’ shenanigans in the last moments of the contest and gave them a boost. They won the game and secured their trip to Wembley thanks to goals from Ellis Simms in the 97th and Haji Wright in the 100th minutes.

The team has previously won the cup. It seems like the stars could be coming together for them once more after they won the storied trophy in 1987. However, the Sky Blues chairman has made an impressive statement regarding the Championship table and what he would do to be at the top of it, amidst all the hype surrounding the game.

The owner of Coventry announced that he would swap his team’s spot in the FA Cup semifinal with Ipswich to become the top team in the second division. The match between the two sides was supposed to take place this weekend, but it had to be rescheduled due to City’s cup obligations.
