Currently on loan at Juventus, Southampton midfielder Carlos Alcaraz finds himself facing an uncertain future. Despite Juventus holding a €50 million option to purchase him, it’s not surprising that they are unlikely to exercise it, opting instead to explore alternative avenues to negotiate a deal with Southampton.
In discussing this matter, Sebastian Lopez, Alcaraz’s agent, spoke with outlet TuttoJuve to shed light on the current situation. Lopez emphasized that Alcaraz is content in Turin and is eager to maximize his playing time. When questioned about the buyout clause held by Juventus, Lopez noted that he couldn’t disclose specific contract details but hinted that higher attendance could lead to a decrease in valuation.
Regarding Juventus‘ impending decision on whether to pursue Alcaraz further, Lopez indicated that the final verdict rests with the club but stressed that no definitive news has emerged about Alcaraz’s future. He acknowledged that Juventus is currently focused on finishing the season strongly before addressing such matters.
Lopez was also queried about Alcaraz’s potential reaction if Juventus were to arrange another loan deal with Southampton. He affirmed that Alcaraz would always be pleased, expressing pride in the club’s interest and the project he is involved in.
Alcaraz, currently valued at €15 million by Transfermarkt, joined Juventus in January but was hampered by injury, limiting his playing time to just six appearances as he strives to establish himself in Italy.
