RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – After day one of gruesome testimony and details from five witnesses, the State had three more witnesses testify against Jeremy Williams.
Jeremy Williams is the suspect in this case responsible for the murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland. Williams pleaded guilty to multiple capital murder charges. The plea deal came more than two years after the incident.
According to Dr. Rydzewski, methamphetamine and amphetamine, a byproduct of meth, were found in her blood through a toxicology sample obtained during the autopsy.
Dr. Rydzewski went on to detail Kamarie’s injuries and bruises from the previous evening, both prior to and following her passing. These injuries included contusions to her forehead, nose, lips, and rear end. In addition, there were injuries that would point to rape and bruising around her neck and wrists that resembled the manner her hands would have been bound.
The niece of Jeremy Williams was sitting in the courtroom, clearly angry and cringing at every detail Dr. Rydzewski drew as the doctor explained Kamarie‘s injuries to the jury.
The Department of Human Resources’ Heidi Grohman was involved in the custody issue when Kamarie was previously removed from Kristy Siple’s care. According to Grohman, the authorities removed Kamarie and her brother after receiving a tip about Siple’s drug use.
In accordance with a court order, Kristy Siple was not allowed to have any contact with the children after the Department of Human Resources gave custody to Corey Holland. But Holland did permit Siple to communicate with her on a few occasions, including the evening of her passing.
Jody Sellers, the Circuit Clerk for Russell County, reaffirmed that Jeremy Williams my had earlier entered pleas of guilty to all counts of capital murder, which covered:
