The Baltimore Ravens selected Boykin in the third round of the 2019 draft. He attended Notre Dame to play collegiately. Boykin played for the Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the 2022 and 2023 seasons, registering five receptions for 28 yards in that time.

Boykin did, however, play a considerably bigger role on special teams, making 33 appearances in his Pittsburgh tenure. In addition to losing Boykin, the Steelers are also without both of its starting gunners from the 2023 season after losing depth cornerback James Pierre to the Washington Commanders in free agency in March.

This offseason, the Steelers acquired two free agent wide receivers to their roster.
