In addition to further Michigan Wolverines news, Michigan basketball acquired a transfer crystal ball for former FAU big Vlad Goldin.

In terms of the transfer portal, Michigan basketball fans have been waiting for the first domino to fall, and it looks like it might happen soon as a new crystal ball for the Wolverines was entered on Sunday.

Travis Branham, a national recruiting analyst for 247 Sports that covers college basketball, sparked excitement among Michigan basketball fans on Sunday by predicting that 7-foot-1, All-Conference center Vlad Goldin from FAU would end up playing for the Michigan Wolverines.

Ever since he registered on the portal and submitted his NBA draft declaration, Goldin has been one of the Michigan Wolverines’ main objectives. Under Dusty May, Goldin averaged 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game for the Owls in the previous campaign. In addition, he shot 67.3 percent from the field, demonstrating remarkable efficiency.

Another big player from Yale named Danny Wolf counts Michigan basketball as one of his favorites, though Wolf can also play some perimeter ball. He is a stretch four at times. Wolf has good ball handling and shooting skills. Thus, Goldin and Wolf would make a perfect duo.

When Will Tschetter joins the mix, the Michigan basketball frontcourt entering the 2024–25 season is at least off to a start.

Although Michigan basketball is still in the running for Johnell Davis, the Wolverines may still use a real point guard. One Penn transfer who meets that description is Clark Slajchert.

Slajchert averaged 18 points, three rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in 2023–24, earning him a spot on the Second Team All-Ivy. Additionally, he made 42% of his 3-point shots. The Michigan Wolverines are ranked in his top eight, along with Cal, UCLA, Utah State, Stanford, San Francisco, USC, and Davidson. He has two more years of eligibility remaining.

Although the Michigan Wolverines baseball team had a difficult start to the season, they managed to win another series after sweeping Iowa in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Wolverines are in third place in the Big Ten with a record of 6-4, but overall they are 14-18.

Mitch Voit and Will Rogers’ arms helped the Wolverines defeat the Hawkeyes 4-3 on Saturday. After throwing 6.1 innings, Voit earned the victory—his third of the year. He struck out five hitters while giving up just three runs. Rogers, who had a slight lead going into the game, finished with a perfect two innings of work, giving up only one hit and no runs. After Michigan fell behind 2-0 in the game, Collin Priest hit a two-run home run to tie the score. Michigan scored a base on balls and scored the winning RBI.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Michigan baseball defeated the Hawkeyes 10–6. Voit was once more a spark, but this time he was in the right field. He drove in two runs for the Wolverines and blasted two doubles. A.J. Garcia added an RBI and two hits, including a double. Garcia’s hit in the top of the eighth inning leveled the score at 5-5 for Michigan baseball. Voit then scored Garcia with a double. After surrendering four runs on eight hits in seven innings of work, Jacob Denning was awarded the win.

In the Big Ten baseball standings, the Michigan Wolverines sit third, behind 5-1 Nebraska. The Wolverines are 6-4 after winning their first three Big Ten matchups.
