In a trade deal not yet officially announced, the New York Jets have secured the services of Haason Reddick, a two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher, from the Philadelphia Eagles. This information comes from a source who spoke to The Associated Press on Friday, requesting anonymity. As per the terms of the trade, the Jets will send a conditional third-round pick in 2026 to the Eagles.
However, this pick could potentially escalate to a second-round selection if Reddick achieves specific performance milestones in the 2024 season, including playing 67.5% of defensive snaps and registering 10 sacks.
Originally drafted in the first round by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017, Reddick has consistently delivered double-digit sack totals over the past four seasons, notably tallying 27 sacks in the last two years with the Eagles. With one year remaining on his $45 million, three-year contract, Reddick was granted permission by the Eagles to pursue a trade earlier in the offseason. In anticipation of Reddick’s departure, the Eagles bolstered their defensive lineup by signing former Jets edge rusher Bryce Huff in free agency.
At 29 years old, Reddick becomes the latest seasoned addition to the Jets’ roster as they aim to break their longstanding postseason drought, which currently stands as the longest in the NFL.
