ANN ARBOR – On January 24, a new chapter in Michigan football commenced as Jim Harbaugh accepted the head coaching position with the Los Angeles Chargers, shortly after guiding the Wolverines to their first national championship since 1997.
Following Harbaugh’s departure, a 30-day window opened for players to enter the NCAA transfer portal and explore alternative opportunities. Despite the swift action by Michigan in promoting offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore to head coach, several assistant coaches opted to join Harbaugh in the NFL.
