The Wests Tigers are gearing up for their inaugural home game of the season this Saturday as they prepare to host the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at Leichhardt Oval during the NRL Multicultural Round.
In their last outing, a 32-12 defeat to the Raiders in Canberra highlighted areas of improvement for the Tigers, particularly in discipline and performance.
However, they’re bolstered by the inclusion of Justin Olam, set to make his debut appearance for the Tigers, bringing his power to the team’s center position.
Aidan Sezer will be starting at halfback this time around, aiming to provide guidance to rookie Lachlan Galvin, who showed promise in his NRL debut. Additionally, Fonua Pole joins the starting lineup, aiming to inject energy into the Tigers’ forward pack.
Meanwhile, the Sharks enter the match with confidence, having secured victories in their opening two games against the Warriors and Bulldogs, conceding only three tries in total.
Jack Williams and Royce Hunt are notable inclusions for the Sharks, with Williams replacing the suspended Brit Nikora in the second row.
Despite a historical disadvantage against the Sharks, the Tigers remain optimistic as they look to defy statistics and secure a crucial win at home.
