It has felt like the close season sans the occasionally mild weather in the absence of any Hatters activity.

With the Premier League on hold owing to the fourth international break of the 2023–2024 season, it has been an odd weekend.

I was able to see some football, though, from the EFL Leagues 1 and 2. I really liked watching Stockport County, the other Hatters, shut out MK Dons 5-0, and Soccer Saturday was fun because all the goals were displayed just after they were scored.

It just goes to show how much I enjoy football up north that I was a little let down to learn today that the highly anticipated Scottish League Cup Final, featuring Glasgow Rangers, was not a match between men and women.

The friendly international between Brazil and England was one game I chose not to watch, though—why would I watch a game that would disrupt the previously stated show?

But when I browsed social media today, I was thrilled to discover that the people who put these events together were considerate enough to acknowledge the tragic passing of our own Ron Baynham:
