Randy Gregory, a former San Francisco 49ers edge rusher valued at $70 million, could sign with the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks during the offseason. The NFC West mainstay is reportedly interested in Gregory in order to strengthen their defense, according to CBS Sports. There is never too many alternatives when it comes to the Seahawks, who are looking for dependable players to pressure the quarterback. They’re not ineffective in this area, but since the days of the Legion of Boom, they haven’t had a truly deadly pass rush.

The Nebraska native has had a somewhat turbulent career after the Dallas Cowboys took him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Gregory hasn’t yet reached his full potential because of his persistent ailments and drug using problems. Reuniting with current Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde, though, might help him start over. During Gregory’s tenure in Dallas from 2021 to 2023, before his departure in 2022, Durde was the defensive line coach for the Cowboys.
When the 49ers acquired him, they hoped he would contribute to the pass rush and assist Nick Bosa. It didn’t quite work out as planned, and Gregory was getting less snaps as the season went. Despite his lack of productivity, he still has the opportunity to play with a new team.
