CJ Egan-Riley, who Burnley loaned to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, looks like he might be returning to Turf Moor in the near future.

According to Voetbal Primeur, who cited Eindhovens Dagblad, the Eredivisie team has “not yet made a

decision” over what to do with the player.

It explains that thenley l Buroanee “did not quite meet the sporting standard” expected of him in his first few games for Jong PSV, which is effectively their U21 squad.

Egan-Riley had a buyout option in his contract with PSV, but it “remains to be seen” if they exercise it. Riley was loaned to PSV for the final half of the season.
It appears that the Burnley player had expectations from the Dutch team that he hasn’t lived up to, and it could have an impact on his future there.

In 2022, Egan-Riley joined Manchester City’s U21 team on a free transfer. He played the second half of the season on loan at Scotland’s Hibernian FC.

His performance in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie with Jong PSV is comparable to his Burnley career in that he has made seven appearances without dishing out an assist or finding the back of the net.
