In order to better support its operations in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa, FedEx Express has established a new regional headquarters in Singapore
The corporation hopes to accelerate its own expansion and be better positioned to handle some of the world’s fastest expanding markets with the help of this new facility.
A variety of dignitaries attended the inauguration ceremony, including Png Cheong Boon, chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Jonathan Kaplan, US ambassador to Singapore, and Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s minister of foreign affairs.
Leaders from FedEx around the world were in attendance, including Richard Smith, president and chief executive of FedEx Express’s airline and international division, and Raj Subramaniam, president and CEO of FedEx.
FedEx Express President of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa Kawal Preet stated, “This is a strategic step in connecting businesses in our vast region with greater speed and agility.”
Due to its advantageous location, Singapore is ideally positioned to take advantage of the enormous potential that the rapidly developing markets in the region—particularly in Southeast Asia—present. This action demonstrates our dedication to improving the logistics infrastructure in the area as businesses strive to strengthen the resilience of their supply chains.
FedEx stated that it will keep actively working with local government bodies to improve logistics capacities, directly fund regional logistics networks, and exchange technological know-how and industrial know-how to raise the bar for logistical operations.
“We are pleased to have FedEx’s new regional office in Singapore. This action demonstrates Singapore’s importance as a major international center for connectivity, trade, and logistics as well as its crucial role in bolstering the robustness of global supply chains, according to Balakrishnan.
The FedEx South Pacific hub, which acts as a focal point for business operations throughout Southeast Asia, and the FedEx Life Science Center, which offers specialized cold chain solutions for the healthcare industry, are already located in Singapore.
In the city, FedEx has also set up a Center of Excellence for Data Analytics, which uses cutting-edge digital technology to provide fresh approaches that improve supply chains.
